I think I’ve mentioned it already, but one of my other favorite non-profit arts organizations is Florida Dance Theatre. Not only am I on the board, but I’ve also been a student for almost 6 years. Anyway, I’m excited about their next performace, Innovations Dance, which will be held April 18 at 7:30pm at Polk Theatre. For only $18, you’ll get an evening of innovative (hence the name…) dance performances by some extremely talented professional dancers. One of the highlights of the evening is a joint performance with the Lakeland based indie band Joon.

For the first time, FDT will also be hosting a pre-performance V.I.P. Cocktail Party. $50 per person gets you an open bar, a chance to meet the dancers, and premier seating at the performance. One of the things I’ve learned from working at a non-profit is that a board member should support that organization financially whenever possible. So I’ll be at the cocktail party. I hope to see you there!
